The data source alias, hostname/IP, port, and database service name in the tnsnames.ora should be modified appropriately. If the TNS entries in the ORACLE_HOME\network\admin\tnsnames.ora file are not recognized by the Oracle client, create a ORACLE_HOME\oracle.key file using any text editor and type in the following line:

Question: I am having trouble locating my tnsnames.ora file on my Windows server. tnsnames.ora file exist in the Linux machine under/home/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.oraBut in my windows machine there is no tnsnames.ora under \oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\network\adminHow can I locate my tnsnames.ora file, or create a tnsnames.ora file?
You looked for your tnsnames.ora file at /home/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora.But, the db_1 is the $ORACLE_SID!Traditionally, the tnsnames.ora is in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin with a soft link to the ORACLE_SID location. In windows, look for the tns_admin registry entry. If tns_admin is set then you should be able to use a network alias, not the full "(DESCRIPTION..." connect string. The TNS_ADMIN parm tells Oracle clients where to find the tnsnames.ora file. Also, make sure that tns_admin is set in your DOS $PATH variable:C:> set TNS_ADMIN=$PATH;ORACLE_HOME\network\admin
As the LLBLGen Pro designer works with the .NET 2.0+ DbProviderFactory system, it's key that all ADO.NET providers used by you are built for .NET 2.0 and support the DbProviderFactory system. E.g. for Oracle ODP.NET, older .NET 1.x 9i builds aren't supported as they don't support DbProviderFactory. When in doubt, download the latest ADO.NET provider for your database from the vendor's website.
If you want to run LLBLGen Pro on a 64bit windows system and you want to retrieve Relational Model Data from an MS Access database, you will run into the limitation that Microsoft still hasn't shipped a 64bit MS Access JET driver. To overcome this, please run the LLBLGen Pro designer as a 32bit application. To do so, please use the 32bit enforcer helper executable LLBLGenPro_x86.exe which is located in the LLBLGen Pro installation folder and which will run the designer in 32bit, regardless whether you have a 64bit OS or not.
If you want to use the newer Microsoft Access Database Engine (ACE driver) which is supported on 64bit windows and which can also work with .accdb files (MS Access 2007/2010), please visit this link at the Microsoft download center to obtain the engine to make the LLBLGen Pro MS Access driver work properly on 64bit and with .accdb files. 2ff7e9595c
